Northern Shield Announces Results of 3D IP at Creston Copper Porphyry Target, Root & Cellar Project, Newfoundland; Drill Permits Received

Ottawa, Ontario (August 26, 2026) — Northern Shield Resources Inc. (“Northern Shield” or the “Company”) [TSX-V: NRN] is pleased to report results of the 3D induced polarization (“IP“) geophysical survey completed at the Company’s flagship Root & Cellar Property (“Root & Cellar” or the “Property”) on the Burin Peninsula of eastern Newfoundland. The Property is being explored for porphyry copper ± molybdenum, gold and tellurium, and for epithermal gold-silver-tellurium.

A review of the first 3D inversion modelling of chargeability and resistivity over a 4.6 km² grid covering the Creston copper porphyry target has been completed with four priority targets defined (Figure 1a and b). Three, IP-1, IP-2 and IP-3, appear to be connected, lying in the same zone of elevated chargeability. The fourth, IP-4, is a separate target to the north and possibly related to the Conquest gold zone.

Target IP-1

IP-1 is a near-surface chargeability response of approximately 9.5 mV/V coinciding with a bornite / possible chalcocite occurrence found during ground truthing of the target. It plunges shallowly to the SE into the IP-2 anomaly.

Targets IP-2 & 3

IP-2 extends from near surface to approximately 450 m depth with chargeability responses from 9.8 to 12.5 mV/V, and resistivity averaging approximately 6,875 ohm-m – the strongest combined response in the survey and the highest-priority target from the survey. IP-3 has a modelled chargeability of 9 to 11.2 mV/V at depths between 245 and 570 m and lies on the southern flank of a magnetic high that is interpreted as the porphyry intrusion that is driving the system (Figure 2). IP-2 and -3 combined, have a strike-length of approximately 1,000 m with a trend parallel to both the diatreme breccia complex and the copper (lead-zinc) mineralization in the neighbouring quarries. These anomalies are on the edge of the grid and hence their geometry and magnitude cannot be fully determined. They also lie outside the area of Northern Shield’s soil geochemical sampling in an area that has not been evaluated by prior exploration.

Target IP-4

IP-4 measures approximately 240 m by 300 m in plan extending from near surface to approximately 400 m depth. It is characterised by chargeability of 8.5 to 9.0 mV/V coincident with resistivity averaging approximately 9,350 ohm-m, the most resistive area in the survey. This combination of elevated chargeability with strongly elevated resistivity is typical of disseminated sulphides hosted in quartz veins or silicified alteration.

Interpretation

The magnitude of the chargeability responses at Root & Cellar is consistent with expectations for the core of an alkalic porphyry system. Induced polarization responds to the surface area of sulphide rather than to copper grade, and alkalic mineralization is typically sulphide-poor and dominated by high-tenor copper minerals such as bornite and chalcocite. Higher chargeabilities in porphyry systems are usually attributed to the alteration cap that contains abundant disseminated pyrite and not the mineralized core.

“This survey has done exactly what we asked of it. It has taken a copper showing we could stand on and shown us that it is the near-surface expression of something considerably larger, extending several hundred metres to depth, to the southeast and still open. We now have a clear, prioritised basis for drilling. Also, beyond defining the copper target, the survey has identified an untested target that may be part of the Conquest Zone.”

– Ian Bliss, President and CEO, Northern Shield

Next Steps

Ground truthing of the targets continues and a permit for 15 new drill hole collars has just been received, in addition to the 14 that remain permitted from last year. Nine of these new drill hole collar locations are in the main Conquest Zone.

The DasVision® 3D IP survey was completed by Abitibi Geophysics Inc. of Val-d’Or, Quebec. The survey used a distributed receiver array employing IRIS Instruments FullWaver technology in a pole-dipole configuration, with 100 m receiver dipole separations and current injections every 100 m over approximately 4.6 km². A total of 148 of 150 planned current injections were completed and 9,464 data points collected.

Northern Shield Announces New Discovery at Fortune and Completion of Geophysics at Root & Cellar, Newfoundland

Ottawa, Ontario (June 25, 2026) — Northern Shield Resources Inc. (“Northern Shield” or the “Company”) [TSX-V: NRN] is pleased to provide updates on exploration at the Company’s flagship Root & Cellar Property (“Root & Cellar”) and the Fortune Property (“Fortune”), both located on the Burin Peninsula of eastern Newfoundland.  The properties are being explored for porphyry copper ± molybdenum, gold and tellurium, and for epithermal gold-silver-tellurium.

Fortune Property: Recent prospecting in the Jasper Brook area of the Fortune Property (Fig 1) resulted in the discovery of epithermal-type mineralization with associated quartz veining and silicification.  The discoveries in outcrop and sub-crop include:

  1. Jasperoid hosting several phases of grey quartz veins, which host fine-grained pyrite with lesser chalcopyrite and bornite (Fig. 2a), which are cut by a later phase of crustiform-colloform banded quartz veins (Fig. 2b) also carrying fine-grained sulphides.
  2. Granular to breccia-textured quartz veins with significant coarse disseminated pyrite (Fig. 3a), with some hosting abundant bright green mica believed to be phengite or roscoelite (Fig. 3b).
  3. Banded pyrite-silica along vein walls, with banded quartz-pyrite-chlorite infilling tension gashes (Fig. 4), locally cut by quartz-adularia(?)-pyrite veins.
  4. Grey, vuggy silica breccia containing pyrite and occasional grains believed to be fluorite (Fig. 5).
  5. Quartz-vein breccias (Fig. 6).
  6. Larger quartz veins, some with minor chalcopyrite, bornite or trace covellite(?), and others with fine-grained molybdenite (Fig. 7).

All mineral identifications described herein are preliminary, based on field and hand-specimen examination, and remain subject to laboratory confirmation.  Samples have been submitted for analyses with results pending.

The discoveries were made by Root & Cellar discoverer Jeffery Brushett and veteran Burin prospector Albert Stone. Alteration, consistent with porphyry copper and high-sulphidation gold systems, including silicification, pyrophyllite and alunite, was recognized in the Rattle Brook area previously, however the mineralization and veining in the Jasper Brook area is the first concrete indication of a mineral system in the area.   Prospecting follow up will continue in the Jasper Brook area to expand the mineralized area.

“We are very excited about the rocks now emerging from Jasper Brook. The range of quartz textures and minerals points to a wide span of deposit styles and temperatures of formation — most likely a telescoped system in which deep, porphyry-proximal levels and shallower epithermal levels have been brought close together. At this early stage it is hard to know exactly what we are dealing with, but having an abundance of mineralization is a good problem to have. We will be back in the Jasper Brook area in the coming days to expand the footprint of these discoveries and establish better context. These finds continue to emphasize the prospectivity and untapped potential of the Burin Peninsula for porphyry copper and epithermal gold,”

– Ian Bliss, President and CEO, Northern Shield

Root & Cellar: a 3D-IP geophysical survey at the Creston target has been completed by Abitibi Geophysics of Val-d’Or, Quebec.   Results are pending.   The Creston target is defined by a 2-km-diameter copper soil and rock-sample anomaly representing one of the largest copper footprints on the Burin Peninsula.  A diatreme breccia pipe complex measuring approximately 1,600 × 800 metres occupies the centre of the target.  Three phases of copper mineralization are noted in the diatreme breccia, along with lead and zinc mineralization interpreted to have precipitated from a vapour phase, which the Company considers to be permissive of an underlying magmatic-hydrothermal system.

Further trenching and “surgical” prospecting will commence next week at the Conquest and Windfall Zones at Root & Cellar.

Northern Shield Provides Update on Exploration at Root & Cellar and CSM Properties, Newfoundland

Ottawa, Ontario (May 13, 2026) – Northern Shield Resources Inc. (“Northern Shield” or the “Company”) [TSX-V: NRN] is pleased to provide updates on exploration at Root & Cellar and CSM properties in the Avalon Terrane of Eastern Newfoundland. The Company’s flagship Root & Cellar Property (“Root & Cellar”), on the Burin Peninsula in southeastern Newfoundland, is being explored for porphyry copper +/- molybdenum, gold and tellurium and epithermal gold-silver-tellurium. The CSM Property (“CSM”), located on the Avalon Peninsula about 100 km to the east of Root & Cellar, is being explored for magmatic Ni-Cu-Co and porphyry copper style mineralization.

At the Root & Cellar, line-cutting has been completed on the grid over the Creston Copper Zone (“Creston”) with a 3D-IP geophysical survey estimated to commence by mid-May. Creston is defined by a 2 km diameter copper soil and rock sample anomaly and represents one of the largest copper footprints on the Burin Peninsula. A diatreme breccia pipe complex, measuring approximately 1,600 × 800 metres occupies the centre of the target.  Three phases of copper mineralization are noted in the diatreme breccia, along with lead and zinc mineralization, believed to have precipitated from a vapour phase, which is interpreted as evidence of an underlying magmatic-hydrothermal system. A 2,000 to 3,000 m drilling program is planned to test targets defined by the 3D-IP survey.

CSM, further to the east in the Avalon Terrane, was originally acquired for its porphyry copper potential. The Company believes that the east-west rift system where Root & Cellar is located, continues across Placentia Bay to the south end of the Avalon Peninsula where it intersects a north-trending rift system. The southern portion of CSM covers a distinct cluster of till samples anomalous in copper, nickel and cobalt in an area of limited bedrock exposure. However, government geology maps show multiple gabbroic sills with strike lengths exceeding 10 km, hosted in sedimentary carbonate and shale sequences. A high resolution airborne magnetic survey totalling 3,200 line-kilometers has been completed over  CSM by Prospectair Surveys at 50 m line-spacing. Processing and modelling of the data is underway with an initial review of the unprocessed data supporting the existence of multiple thin sills and highlighting unmapped dikes that coincide with the tend of the east-west rift. Based on these results and regional gravity data which suggests the prospective geology continues at depth to the north of the original claim block, CSM has been expanded from 135 km2 to 292 km2.  Further updates will be provided once the data is processed and modelled.

“The past few months we have been focussing on gathering information at Creston and growing our understanding of the copper porphyry target, and in the process, the entire Root & Cellar camp. We now eagerly look forward to the start of the 3D-IP survey and then drilling. At CSM, we were not expecting to be exploring for magmatic Ni-Cu-Co in the Avalon Terrane, however the till geochemical signature is quite clear, but on stepping back to look at the bigger geological picture, including a large fertile gabbroic sill-dike complex, intruding carbonates and pyritic shales at a rift-rift intersection, it is hard to ignore.”
